For more than 30 years, Artisan Controls has been a
recognized leader in the electronic timing and controls industry. Artisan has supplied the
United States Government and the industrial marketplace with more than 3000 types of
timers and control devices for rugged environment such as railroad equipment, material
handling, portable heaters, conveyor systems, lubrication machinery, food service
equipment, elevators, HVAC, vending equipment, waste management, industrial and movie
theater lighting. Most of Artisan's "standard products" are available for
immediate shipment either factory direct or through more than 300 major distribution
locations throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.. Artisan's commitment to its
customers has earned us a reputation for Quality, Performance, Reliability and Service.
Artisan's innovative product design, superior quality and
attention to safety has allowed us to apply the UL, CUL, CSA and CE approval marks to many
of our standard and custom products. Artisan has designed timers and/or controllers for
recognized industry leaders such as Westinghouse, General Electric, AT&T, NASA, Martin
Company, North American, Amtrak, NJ Transit, Bombardier, and the United States Government.
In June of 1959, Chester Waldvogel and Joseph Pieczynski
founded the Electronic Products Corporation (EPC) of Baltimore, Maryland. The sole purpose
of which was to design, manufacture, and sell electronic timing devices.
In June of 1964, Daniel Drench, President of Artisan
Electronics Corporation of New Jersey purchased EPC and relocated the merged company to
New Jersey where it has remained ever since. Joe Pieczynski was appointed the manager of
the EPC division of AEC, and was later elected Vice President of AEC.
In the late 60's Artisan's "Time Capsule" was
developed and grew into an entire line of in-line operated timing devices. By the mid
70's, AEC began to develop its national network of distributors which today includes such
industry leaders as Graybar Electric, Newark Electronics, Allied Electronics, and a host
of local and regional dedicated distributors serving your timing and control needs.
Artisan's products are also sold through a network of
National Sales Representatives. This extremely capable and well trained team of
representatives have allowed for continuity of product development by matching and
coordinating the right product to the customer's specific application.
By 1980, Artisan was using the microprocessor as a component
part in timers that "talked". Since then the custom microcontroller chip has
become a commonplace component in our product design.
In January of 1987, a management team led by Joe Pieczynski
and Lou D'Alessandro purchased the EPC Division of Artisan Electronics naming the new
company "Artisan Controls Corporation"... a brand "new" 28 year old
company.
In January of 1998, Artisan elected its corporate counsel of
7 years, John D. Murray, as its President and CEO. Assisted by Executive Vice President of
Manufacturing, Lou D'Alessandro, Artisan is now poised for success in the 21st century.
Today, Artisan maintains its corporate headquarters in Parsippany, Morris County, New
Jersey. The company also maintains a satellite office in Austin Texas, where its
co-founder and chief electrical engineer, Joe Pieczynski, continues to design state of the
art products. As a result of this pool of talent, Artisan continues its leadership
role in the development and manufacture of standard and specialized timing and controlling
devices for its customers. Artisan hopes that you will join our ever growing family
of satisfied customers by ordering our products today.
